We are looking to find a skilled Child Speech Development Annotator to join our growing team.
You will annotate early-childhood speech recordings, focusing on developmental phonological processes, error patterns and intelligibility. These annotations support child-speech model training.
Responsibilities:
Identify developmental processes such as fronting, stopping, assimilation or weak-syllable deletion
Distinguish age-appropriate patterns from atypical ones
Annotate intelligibility issues, consistency and error frequency
Provide context notes when needed (e.g., noise, fatigue)
Requirements:
Understanding of developmental phonology and early speech acquisition
Ability to recognise child-specific articulation and prosody patterns
Careful listening in variable-quality recordings
Background:
Early childhood SLP or child speech therapy
Experience assessing young children’s speech
Sample Test Task:
Annotate phonological processes in a 90-second recording of a child naming pictures.
Compensation
Per annotated minute or per child-speech dataset.
