We are looking to find a skilled Lighting and Exposure Annotation Specialist to join our growing team.
You will annotate lighting conditions, exposure levels and basic colour characteristics in video. This work supports datasets used to train models that analyse lighting style, exposure behaviour and scene illumination patterns.
Responsibilities:
Classify lighting environments per shot or segment, including daylight, dusk, night, artificial indoor, mixed light, backlit, silhouette, high key and low key
Tag exposure levels as underexposed, correctly exposed or overexposed using provided visual guidelines
Annotate approximate colour temperature as warm, neutral or cool
Identify lighting-related artefacts such as lens flare, strong shadows, blown highlights or low-light noise
Track lighting transitions across sequences that shift between conditions
Deliver consistent metadata used to group and evaluate footage by lighting style and quality
Requirements:
Understanding of photographic and cinematographic lighting concepts
Ability to visually judge exposure and colour balance on a calibrated or reliable display
Experience with annotation tools for tagging multiple attributes per segment
Background:
Photography, cinematography, colour grading or image quality evaluation
Hands-on experience filming or adjusting exposure across varied lighting environments
Sample Test Task:
Given a 2-minute clip with indoor and outdoor scenes and a day–evening transition, annotate lighting type, exposure level, colour temperature and notable artefacts for each shot or segment.
Application Requirements:
Short note explaining how you determine whether a shot is correctly exposed
Optional examples of previous lighting, photography or grading work
Completion of the test task
Compensation
Per shot or per minute annotated, with adjustments for sequences containing frequent lighting changes.
