(Speech and Voice Analysis)

We are looking to find a skilled Prosody, Intonation and Rhythm Annotation Specialist to join our growing team.

You will perform detailed annotation of prosodic features in speech, including pitch movement, intonation, rhythm and timing. These annotations support models that learn natural speaking style and expressive delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Review spoken audio clips and annotate pitch contours, stress placement and intonation patterns over phrases and sentences

• Tag rhythmic structure including speaking rate, pause placement and timing of emphasised words

• Distinguish neutral, emphatic and contrastive stress patterns according to project guidelines

• Mark phrase boundaries and prosodic groupings using a defined schema

• Flag segments with unclear prosodic cues and add brief notes on ambiguity

Requirements:

• Understanding of basic phonetics and prosody concepts

• Ability to work with waveform and spectrogram viewers or prosody tools where required

• Strong listening focus and sensitivity to subtle changes in pitch and timing

Background:

• Linguistics, phonetics, speech science or voice coaching

• Experience analysing speech patterns or teaching pronunciation / public speaking

Sample Test Task:

• Given a one-minute English speech clip, annotate phrase boundaries, stressed syllables and main intonation movements, and provide a short description of the prosodic style.

• Optional examples of previous work involving speech delivery analysis

• Completed test task

Compensation

• Per minute of annotated audio or per batch of clips, with possible hourly arrangements for large projects.
